‘Joao Cancelo and Nelson Semedo swap deal – Many Man City fans react as news emerges

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a report that Barcelona are targeting a move for full-back Joao Cancelo this summer, with Nelson Semedo heading in the opposite direction.

Cancelo has struggled for game time under Pep Guardiola this season since making the switch to the Etihad Stadium from Juventus last summer,

According to the Telegraph, Because of the Coronavirus crisis, Because of the Coronavirus crisis, cash spending on transfers will reduce, and swap deals will be more common.

The report goes on the claim that a swap between the Barcelona and Manchester City right-backs is a potential transfer which would see the scenario above come to fruition. Both clubs would strengthen their full-back positions while also retaining funds.

Semedo (26) joined the La Liga giants in 2017 from Benfica, leaving him with two years remaining on his initial five-year contract. The Portuguese defender is yet to renew his terms at the Camp Nou.

In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtraon Twitter, Manchester City fans have flocked to share their opinions on the transfer rumours.

hows everyone now turning against cancelo and saying they rather semedo 😂😂 we have barley seen cancelo in a city shirt . Semedo is still a good signing imo but rather cancelo stay

Semedo 🇵🇹 is much better than Cancelo 🇵🇹 and I think will be good deal but, only if he can play as LB because RB you have already Walker 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and Y. Couto 🇧🇷. In Barça he did few times and was good playing as LB. Will see…

What do we think?

Our problem ⚠️ is that we are good in admiring players when their playing for other clubs ⚽

But when we bring them at #Etihad,  boom 💥 they loose value by not giving them chance to prove ⚽.

#JoaoCancelo is a good player. We should stick with him! He just needs game time to be more effective!
