Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of Pep Guardiola‘s interest in Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.
Pau Torres is one of the defender strongly linked with a move to the Etihad amongst José Giménez, Upamecano, Milan Skriniar, Nathan Ake, Diego Carlos and Kalidou Koulibaly in recent weeks, as Pep Guardiola looks to sign a new centre-back at the end of the season.
City’s need for a centre-half is a priority this summer, after the problems encountered in the wake of Vincent Kompany’s retirement this summer
According to 90min, Pep Guardiola has also been keen on Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres but agreement over a deal for Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake on Thursday may signal that they’ve opted to move for the Dutchman over Torres, though City do still want another centre back.
The Villarreal centre-back who is also on Barcelona and Manchester United targets list currently has a $50 million release clause and a contract that expires in 2024.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
Pau Torres is like a younger Laporte, their style is pretty similar but Torres is way faster… that’s a brutal partnership ⚡️⚡️⚡️— Jaime Sevillano (@JJSevillano) July 30, 2020

I think it’s a bit harsh on stones. As frustrating as it’s been for him this season, he is still a good defender and very good on the ball. Torres would be a good signing but selling stones as well as otamendi is ludicrous. Keep stones— ashtunji (@FouldsAshley) July 30, 2020
Both got to go!They both had enough https://t.co/tapKVtIdF8 the case of Otamendi his age doesn’t help and he won’t get any better.Stones is young but he cannot defend.— KDA (@KOBBYANY) July 30, 2020
