Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that PSG have come in with a last minute offer for Lionel Messi that the Citizens cannot make due to Financial Fair Play rules.
On Tuesday evening, it was revealed that Messi had informed Barcelona of his desire to end his long-term association with the club.
The three clubs mentioned so far keen on Messi’s signature have been City, PSG and Inter Milan, But it’s City who are seen as major favourites by reliable Spanish journalists.
Argentine journalist Veronica Brunati, who was one of the first to confirm Messi wanted to leave Barcelona, reported earlier that City have already agreed personal terms with the Argentine.
But According to TyC Sports, PSG have completely blown City’s offer out of the water by making a contract offer that’s higher than what he gets now, while they are also confident that they could pay a big transfer fee to Barcelona to make this happen.
City have a problem here because they simply cannot match the offer due to FFP restrictions.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, Many City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions on this latest update.

Calm down Everyone, We know Messi isn’t going to go PSG, Because firstly at City he has Pep who he feels comfortable working with, He also knows our Football Director and CEO very well, These are the two possible outcomes, either he stays at Barca or he comes to City— IKYZ (@ikram_248) August 27, 2020
I am struggling to work out how PSG can sign Messi and keep Mbappe and Neymar and keep with FFP….actually their chairman’s on the FFP board so that’s not an issue for them I guess— Jonathan (@Jonathanctid) August 27, 2020
Who honestly didn’t see that coming?— ‘R’-CH-EL (@archeltb) August 27, 2020
