Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports to yet another update on the Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly’s potential move to the Etihad.
City are looking to complete the signing of Koulibaly this summer as they belatedly try to replace Vincent Kompany.
The Citizens have been negotiating with Napoli for several weeks over their asking price, with Aurelio de Laurentiis looking to make at least €90m after turning down €100m last summer.
Napoli still haven’t received an acceptable offer for the Senegalese defender, thier President Aurelio Di Laurentiis said
According to La Gazetta dello Sport, Napoli are “ready” to sit down and talk with City about a deal for the defender, which could allude to previous suggestions that the Italian side need to sell for financial reasons this summer.
The same source claim that Koulibaly now has his “suitcases ready” and the imminency of the moves is talked up, yet there’s not really any key details.
Remember that in June 2019, Gazzetta.it stated that Joao Cancelo has ‘seriously started packing his bags’ ahead of last summer’s move to City which was later confirmed to be true.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City chief and Man City xtra , Manchester City fans as always have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Its like Cancelo he also packed his suitcase😅— 💙 King Kun 💙 (@Sayanroman94) August 23, 2020
Remember the Jorginho saga! This snake isn’t to be trusted and why we would even contemplate doing business with him, god only knows. Make a take it or leave it offer and look elsewhere! I don’t think Koulibaly at 29 for £70m plus is great business anyway #mcfc— Maurice Kilbride (@MauriceKilbride) August 23, 2020
Means nothing. We’ve agreed personal terms with him ages ago. Just need to somehow find another agreement with Napoli, if we even had one to begin with. Hard to tell.— ioan (@BoredIoan) August 23, 2020
Mixed feelings about this transfer. Should bring us back the prem trophy but not ideal for the future— Man City 🇧🇼 (@mancity2432) August 23, 2020
Too much £££ for a 29 year old, smells like mangala part 2. Pep wants to win the UCL next year and then he’s off, we’re then left with a 30 year old past his best, for best part of 3 to 4 years, on about £200k a week. Hope I’m wrong mind.— Captain Drakes (@CaptainDrakes) August 23, 2020
