Manchester City are expecting comings and goings in what promises to be a “strange” transfer window, with Txiki Begiristain confident that the Blues can “improve the squad”.

City have already been very active in their recruitment plans with just seven weeks until the 2020-21 campaign kick off. The summer transfer window will run for 10 weeks from July 27 and close at 11pm on October 5.

Pep Guardiola is understood to be keen to really strengthen the side as the Blues’ transfer strategy has clearly been geared towards solving the problems which led to them ending up 18 points behind champions Liverpool.

The club completed a £37m deal for Valencia winger Ferran Torres on Tuesday and Dutch international Nathan Ake for £41million from Bournemouth on Wednesday, but Guardiola isn’t done there.

With Torres and Ake in the door already, City fans may perhaps be expecting one or two more additions at most?

However, According to Sky Sport, the Citizen are looking to sign as many as five more players during the transfer window and want their business done by the start of the new season on September 12.

The report claims that left-back and second centre-half addition are now the top priorities for the Manchester powerhouse with Koulibaly as the likely second centre-back option.

The report adds that Lautaro Martinez remains the number one choice to fill the number 9 shirt as City face the daunting task of finding long-term replacements for two Premier League legends in David Silva and Sergio Aguero.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

“I think if city will buy another striker then Jesus will be turned into a left winger with sterling, Mahrez and Torres on the right and Bernardo will play in midfield.,” claimed one fan.

While another asked: “Serious question, do we want Felix? I’m assuming since Atletico paid a hefty price for him it would cost £90 mill at least”

A fan responded: “It’s a lot for a very young player who has a ton of potential, has shown he can score goals … but 90 mil is a risk.”

while another tweeted: “Joao Felix and a versatile defender and city are sorted, really dont think a centre half is a necessity Ake is acc pretty good left footed or not.”
