Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that the club is interested in signing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
The 21-year-old has been very impressive for Lyon over the last two seasons and Manchester City have been linked with him for some time now.
According to French outlet Le Parisien, City are refusing to “hide their interest” in the 22-year-old who has already earned public praise from Pep Guardiola.
The report adds that Should ‘a bid deemed satisfying’ arrive, Lyon ‘won’t hold him back’,
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Aouar is the perfect Man City player, would do wonders if he joins.— Bounedjah (@TaztozaP) August 6, 2020
How is gundo like aouar? AOUAR has exactly the same style as Silva but not as great obv— brunswick (@mathisaouar) August 6, 2020
City have already a lot of midfields so, if Gündogan 🇩🇪 leave ok why not. Otherwise is not good idea. Even Bernardo 🇵🇹 can play there and of course Foden 🏴 should play more and more. He is present and future there at City— J@vi (@jdiazm11) August 6, 2020
Could Houssem Aouar be the missing piece to complete Man City’s long-term midfield?
Aouar could be Ilkay Gundogan’s long-term replacement. Gundogan, 29, still has a few years left in his game, and like Foden, his responsibilities will surely increase when Silva leaves.
Aouar, like Gundogan, is adept at playing in central midfield, defensive midfield, and on occasion in attacking midfield.
With Phil Foden and Rodri already identified as the replacements for Silva and Fernandinho, Aouar could complete City’s future midfield trio.
