Man City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club has withdrawn from their pursuit of Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Citizens have been trying to sign Koulibaly for much of the transfer window. It’s been a hard fight, with the Serie A club’s president wanting a huge fee and being unrealistic regarding his prospects of getting it.

According journalist of Sportitalia, Alfredo Pedullà via Tuttonapoli, the Citizens have ‘probably definitively’ withdrawn from their pursuit of Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

” No City for Koulibaly, probably definitively. The Manchester club has turned to Gimenez which will arrive in 2021 for about 80 million euros. At this point PSG is advancing for the Senegalese, but Napoli will not go beyond the middle of next week .” Alfredo told Sportitaliamercato.

City are reported to be targeting Sevilla’s Koundé and Atletico Maldrid’s Jose Giménez as alternatives.
