Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of the club’s interest in Anderlecht’s promising striker Jeremy Doku.
The young striker was handed his first start for his national side in Brussels on Tuesday night. Doku rounded off a stunning performance by scoring his first goal for his country during a 5-1 rout against Iceland.
Since making his first-team debut aged 16, the Belgian has earned the admiration of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Liverpool and Real Madrid credited with an interest in the past.
Liverpool are reportedly to have come close to signing Doku in 2018, only for intervention from Anderlecht officials to persuade the player it was too soon for him to move
According to The Daily Telegraph, City have shown interest in the Belgium forward and could use Vincent Kompany to land the teenager.
The teenager would be considered a prospect for the future at City and possibly loaned out for regular games, the report adds.

He’s genuinely very very good, watched him a lot this season. Still too early to buy him imo or buy him and loan him out for like 2 seasons— GabyJezz (@GabyJezzzz) September 10, 2020
would be a great transfer. loan him for a season or maybe two, and when aguero goes he ll be a great back up striker for jesus— Alex Ariton (@aaalexariton) September 10, 2020
The youngster has proven himself capable of playing on either flank this season and has played internationally for Belgium up to Under-21 level, despite his young age.
According to WhoScored, Doku completed more dribbles (4) than any other player on the pitch and he was calculated as the most effective player on the pitch after averaging a total score of 8.9 which was higher than that of both Dries Mertens and Kevin de Bruyne.
