Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Napoli have set a strict deadline for club’s who are interested in Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Citizens have been negotiating with Napoli for several weeks over their asking price for the Senegalese, with Aurelio de Laurentiis looking to make at least €90m after turning down €100m last summer.
City are reported to already have personal terms with the player and are now just looking to agree on a deal with Napoli. It is understood City had offered as much as £70m, leaving the two clubs apart in terms of the final fee.
The defender’s agent, Fali Ramadani, was set to hand a new offer to Napoli, and they’d probably be minded to accept. If they didn’t, then City would start to seriously move on to other targets.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, City’s arm wrestling with Napoli for Koulibaly continues as de Laurentiis doesn’t want to give in with the Premier League club not wanting to move higher than €70M.
The report claims Napoli want to decide Koulibaly’s future before the Serie A season starts. They face Parma on Sunday in their season opener, by which time they could have taken Koulibaly off the market
A further reports in Italy from Football Italia claim that unless a deal is done by this weekend, Napoli will scrap any discussions.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
