Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report of the club’s interest in Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.
With less than two weeks of the transfer window to go, City are still working on adding to their two signings of Ferran Torres and Nathan Ake before the October 5 deadline.
The Citizens have been trying to sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli for much of the transfer window. It’s been a hard fight, with the Serie A club’s president wanting a huge fee and being unrealistic regarding his prospects of getting it.
As a result, City are reported to be targeting Sevilla’s Koundé and Atletico Maldrid’s Jose Giménez as alternatives.
According to Tuttosport via insidefutbol, Newcastle United and West Ham United could face competition from City for the signature of Juventus centre back Daniele Rugani (26).
With the club heavily linked with several defenders this summer, City has not shown any genuine interest in the Juve man but the report claims City ‘cannot be ruled out’ as a potential suitor for Juventus centre-back.
The reports adds that the player is being ‘studied’ as a potential option and could be seen as a smart buy for a fee of between €20M and €25M.

Lol, I said a week ago. City will end up going for an average defender— Fellah (@Momaverick83) September 24, 2020
This is possible as Kounde’s asking price is getting as high as Koulibaly’s— . (@FerranFlair) September 24, 2020

Stones is by far better honestly 👍— Bawuro (@bawuro24) September 24, 2020
Really not keen on this, he is 5th choice centerback in Juve and every single Juve fan doesn’t like him. So I dont really see him as a better cb than what we’ve got— 💯 (@mbech09) September 24, 2020
