Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the Citizens are set to complete the signing of Sevilla central defender Jules Kounde.
The 21-year-old, who joined Sevilla from Bordeaux last summer has enjoyed a stellar 2019/20 season in La Liga, making 29 appearances as his side comfortably finished in the top four.
Koundé is just one of defender that has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad amongst José Giménez, Upamecano, Milan Skriniar, Diego Carlos and Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, as Pep Guardiola looks to sign a new defender.
According to AS, City have agreed a deal to sign Jules Kounde as their second central defender, with the final figures of the operation set to be in the region of €50 million.
The report claims the player himself has agreed to the move should the two parties agree on the fixed payment amounts and objective-related bonuses.
At just 21 years of age, he has potential to evolve into one of the Premier League’s best defenders as he links with Aymeric Laporte, another French player who made his name in La Liga before joining City.
The young Frenchman Kounde would certainly be viewed as a prospect for the future with his natural defensive talent coupled with blistering pace for a central defender.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
When we signed Vinny, not many people knew his name, most people thought that he wouldn’t be anything special and would be a good centre-half at best, and he went on to go down in our clubs history, it isn’t what we expected, but trust in the lad and he will deliver 🏆 pic.twitter.com/gcIPACe3vA

I’d prefer koulibaly but kounde is top

No way! He’s 5’11 and that is too short for a center back. We need someone like Kompany or Koulibaly, tall and strong

Great signing, atleast as good as Koulibaly with much higher performance ceiling, far younger, had a great last season. This kid isn’t as big as Koulibaly but faster, he makes up for his small stature by always being in right position to defend.

Never seen him play but Pep wouldn’t want him if he wasn’t a good player. I’ll obviously welcome him open arms🙏🏻💙
