The 26-year-old has struggled for regular playing chances at the Etihad Stadium, and the arrival of Ruben Dias will further deal a huge blow on his opportunities.
According to Daily Mail, Tottenham enquired about taking John Stones on loan from City, with a view to signing the central defender on a permanent deal for £20million.
The report claims Stones wants to remain at City until told he is no longer needed.
It doesn’t appear that a deal can be struck in the coming hours ahead of tonight’s summer transfer deadline as Tottenham aren’t able to meet the financial commitments needed to get a deal over the line for the 26-year-old.

Keeping him is good. He needs to stay and improve. Besides, players with such loyalty to their club are rare. We gat one.

Well i hope stones stays and fights for his place , rather john stones who actually wants to play for city putting pressure on laporte, dias , ake than garcia who clearly doesn’t want to play for city and just biding his time til he can fcuk off on a free and he will

I reckon it’s because when he’s not got injury Troubles we’ve been much better with him than without and he was part of out best ever team? Probably premature to dump him off like he’s nothing especially when Mendy is still getting chances.
