Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed comments made by Bernardo Silva saying he would love to see Kylian Mbappe join the club in future.

The 21-year-old, who already has six goals from five Ligue 1 games this season has been linked with Europe’s biggest clubs.

Silva who played alongside Mbappe at Monaco is hoping to play with the French man again, this time at Etihad Stadium.

When asked which France player he’d like to take to City following Portugal’s draw with Les Bleus, Silva told L’Equipe:

“Kylian Mbappe. He was already a special player for Monaco when I was there and he’s also a friend. If we could buy him, that wouldn’t be bad!”

The Blues actually did try to sign Mbappe in the past, with manager Pep Guardiola keen to bring him to the Etihad first in 2016 when he first burst onto the scene in Monaco and then in 2017 when he was ready to leave the French Riviera.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain recently and he is expected to leave the French outfit at the end of this season.

With Sergio Aguero time at the etihad gradually coming to an end, Mbappe could be the perfect man to replace the Argentine, who wears the crown as the club’s all-time top goal scorer. He has the quality to play in the wide areas and as a striker. He could be the ideal signing for the Citizens next summer.
