Manchester City will resume their Premier League campaign with a match-up against Arsenal on Saturday after a seemingly eternal international break.
The Blues will be undoubtedly eager to kick-start their league campaign, given the eight point gap that has emerged between themselves and current leaders Everton.
A lacklustre start which has been full of frustrations and marred with injury saw Guardiola’s side take just four points from their opening three league games with a 5-2 loss to Leicester and 1-1 draw to Leeds last time out, leaving City in desperate need of a win.
TEAM NEWS
Kevin de Bruyne is out of the ‘next games’ according to Guardiola. Sergio Aguero has trained this week and is in need of match rhythm but we sense there could be a surprise on that front.
Oleksandr Zinchenko also remains side-lined, Gabriel Jesus is still out while Ilkay Gundogan should be able to participate after completing the mandatory COVID 19 isolation period.
City will welcome back Joao Cancelo from the foot problem that kept him out of our opening games and Bernardo, both of whom played for Portugal last week.
Predicted XI: Ederson (GK), Kyle Walker (RB), Rúben Dias (CB), Aymeric Laporte (CB), João Cancelo (LB), Rodri (CDM), Fernandinho (CDM), Bernardo Silva (CAM), Riyad Mahrez (RW), Raheem Sterling (ST), Phil Foden (LW)
Prediction
Arsenal have taken nine from 12 points while City have four from nine and, with Kevin De Bruyne out, this is another firm test of where the home side is at.
