Kevin de Bruyne has withdrawn from Belgium’s squad for Wednesday’s Nations League game against Iceland with an unspecified injury and returned to his club Manchester City, the Belgian national team said.

De Bruyne was substituted by Belgium manager Roberto Martinez during their Nations League defeat to England

The Belgium manager however claims De Bruyne asked for the substitution in the second half.

“I would not say that Kevin is injured. He said he felt something. It is too early to know what he has, but he did not feel a hundred percent. It was rather a precautionary change,” Martinez said.

According to the Belgian national team on Twitter, Kevin de Bruyne has returned to his club as he is not fit enough to play against Iceland.

This De Bruyne’s injury gives Pep Guardiola another concern to contend with after alrealdy having Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Aleks Zinchenko and Sergio Aguero  all already doubtful to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

In  reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, some Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
