Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Eric Garcia will reject all attempts from Manchester City to convince him to stay at the Etihad.
The Spain international Garcia is in the final year of his contract at City and was linked with a switch back to his boyhood club Barcelona during the close season but Pep Guardiola hopes to convince the defender to extend his contract.
“I know he wanted to leave but he’s going to stay and maybe we can seduce him in this year to extend the contract with us. He’s a guy who is so stable in many things and we’re so happy,” Guardiola told reporters.
According to the The Sun, Garcia still has a return to Barcelona on his mind and will reject all attempts by Guardiola and the City hierarchy to sign a new deal.
The report adds that Garcia has told friends he plans to return ‘home’ in January or next summer, and has made his decision for personal reasons.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions

Garcia has our manager on strings lol, never seen Pep bend over backwards for a player who isn’t committed to the team long term until this season.

Pep better stop being biased and give Stones or youngster a chance !

Why it is his choice to go when he left Barca he didn’t want to sign a contract there

Pep should not be playing him. Pep is harsh on the wrong players and it shows on the pitch.

Just want some clarification on this tbh. I want Garcia himself to say something because pep thinks he can stay, reports suggest Garcia doesn’t want to, idk

Why try & keep a player that wants to leave. They don’t give their all lose value but most of all it holds the team back. It’s not good for the players playing with heart & soul to see their efforts wasted. A team sport needs everyone playing for each other💙
