Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims Manchester City are prepared to offer Lionel Messi a lucrative 10-year deal at the Etihad Stadium.
Camp Nou has been gripped with uncertainty ever since its star revealed his desire to leave the club this summer. City were reportedly in talks to sign Messi with the Argentine star pushing for a move away from Barcelona.
However, the six-times world player of the year eventually decided to stay in Spain for the coming season, the last on his current deal, as he did not want to face a legal battle with the club he joined as a teenager and with whom he has amassed more than 30 major trophies.
The Premier League giants are still favourites to sign wantaway superstar in case he finally decide to leave Barcelona.
According to The Times, City has launched another attempt to sign the Barcelona superstar and are ready to offer the Argentine a 10-year contract.
The deal would involve a period in England before a potential switch to MLS challengers New York City in an overall decade-long agreement with the City Football Group.
As per Daily Mail, City devised a 10-year strategy to maximise the benefit of landing Messi from Barcelona.
