Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a comment made by Ajax defender Edson Alvarez that signing for Manchester City would be a “dream” transfer for the Mexico international.
Despite having a contract until the end of the 2023-24 campaign, the 23-year-old is already thinking about his future.
Speaking to Voetbalzone, as cited by Sport Witness, Alvarez said: “I would really like to achieve an Eredivisie title one day and then it is a dream of mine to play in the Premier League one day.
“Manchester City is my favourite club, so that would be perfect.”
Alvarez can play at centre-back and in midfield and has been tipped as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho
The Mexican is known for his versatility, being able to play as a centre-back, right-back and a central midfielder – a talent which would undoubtedly appeal to a manager like Pep Guardiola.

It makes me happy to finally see players say that they love #ManCity as a club. They don’t want to come to the club for the manager or the pay, but they want to be in the kit. Proud City fan!
