Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Barcelona are gearing up to make another push to sign Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
Barca attempted to sign the 19-year-old in the summer but failed to agree a fee with City. The premier league club reportedly rejected Barcelona’s offer of €10 million, plus €8m in add-ons, standing firm on their demand of a total package worth €20 million for the 19-year-old.
However, the Catalans plan to renegotiate with the Sky Blues in the hope of reaching an agreement. The Citizens could be forced to sell Garcia at a reduced fee in January to avoid losing him for free next summer when his contract expires.
According to the Mundo Deportivo, relayed by Sport Witness, Barcelona have agreed a contract with Garcia, they will go back to the Blues and see if they ‘want to charge something’ in the new year which the Catalan club would see as ‘reasonable’.
The reports adds that Barcelona believe that they can get away with offering around €4m to City, although there is a belief at the club that City will just turn that down as they have ‘the muscle of the petroleum of their sponsors.

We should have sell him, but I think Pep want to keep him 😪

Well, it’s because City opted to keep him. We could’ve sold him for more but if he doesn’t leave in Jan, he’ll leave for free.

We make more than that in beer sales for a home game! Tell 'em to do one! I'd rather just let him see out his contract than let Barca take the piss.

At this point Eric should know that Barca really doesn’t value him as much as they say they do. Give him what he wants, he is the future when it comes to modern centre halfs in the game.

Can we please relegate this guy to the reserves? Not city quality and I’d rather run Laporte, Dias, Ake, Stones, CB Walker, and THB before him. Hell put Steffen in defense before Garcia.
