Manchester City fans on Twitter were impressed with Riyad Mahrez’s performance against Burnley at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Algerian scored his first hat-trick for the club, with Benjamin Mendy and Ferran Torres also on target as the blues hammered Burnley 5-0.

Mahrez has received a fair bit of criticism during his time at City but put in a faultless performance against Burnley. He Bullied their defence from the very first minute.

The Algerian wizard gave Burnley no chance with his first goal and brought his intelligence to the fore to double Manchester City’s lead only a few minutes later.

Mahrez got his first hat-trick for City in the second half with yet another clinical finish to cap off a sensational performance.

The Algerian international has struggled for form for much of the season, with only one goal in six Premier League appearances prior to the Burnley clash. Yet on Saturday he showed exactly what he can do.

While Saturday’s victory was undoubtedly a team performance, the main plaudits will have to go to forward Riyad Mahrez.
