Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola has asked the club board to “investigate the possibility” of signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
A new striker has been on the agenda for the club for a long time and City are expected to go into the next transfer markets ready to spend big on a striker following their poor start of the season.
According to the Independent, Guardiola would like City to investigate the possibility of signing Harry Kane, who ‘may push to leave his boyhood club if Spurs do not win a trophy this season’.
The report adds that the Catalan coach during his negotiations before signing a new two-year contract “namechecked” Kane as a potential signing.
The 27-year-old has been consistently among the Premier League’s top scorers since breaking into the Tottenham first team in 2014/15 season, winning the Golden Boot on two occasions.
The Spurs star is contracted until 2024, but Man City are one of the few clubs who could afford to sign him for around £150m.

That’s promising but can’t see it happening. No chance Spurs would sell unless Kane forced the move and if they did 100m easily

If his value is more than £75 million, we shouldn’t sign him although he is a home-grown player

You have to spend big money to sign players like that Pep.
City haven’t spent over 70m on a player thus far.

I joked about signing Kane after the Spurs game, but yeah in terms of realistic targets I think Martinez would be an excellent signing. He will be at Madrid, Barca, PSG or Bayern in due course if we don’t go for him. He combines the best qualities of Kun and Jesus IMO.
