Manchester City have been told to sign Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo as a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Agüero’s peak is clearly coming to its end and there are concerns at the Etihad that Gabriel Jesus is not of the level required to be the Argentine’s replacement.
City’s season unravelled without Sergio Aguero in recent months underlines their need to add another striker.
Reports emerged on Monday claiming Juventus are open to selling Ronaldo and former Chelsea midfielder Andy Townsend believes City should sign the Portugal superstar next summer.
“If you want goals then I think he’s still the ultimate goal machine,” Andy told Drive on talkSPORT.

“I know [Lionel] Messi and there has been so much mileage on the debate over the years but I still think Ronaldo still has the desire and want to be remembered as the greatest…….”
“If he became available and Juve wanted out on him and Man City needed goals for their team then I don’t think you should hesitate in going to get Cristiano Ronaldo.”
“He’s 35 and I still think he’s got 18 months in him. If he came to Man City and the way they play I think he could go there and get 25 in his first season.”
Ronaldo has scored 27 goals in Serie A in 2020 making him the top scorer in Europe’s top five leagues, with an average of a goal every 73 minutes.
There is no doubt Christiano will be a great signing but his allegiances to City’s bitter rivals Manchester United would make a move difficult.
