Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report of the club’s ‘concrete interest’ in Bayern Munich star David Alaba.
City has been long linked with the Bayern Munich defender who has entered the final season of his contract at the German club.
Just last month, The Citizens had been rumored to still be in on possibly signing the Bayern defender on a free transfer deal when his contract is up next year. Now as Sport Bild‘s Christian Falk reports, City has “concrete interest” in completing a deal for Alaba.
The report also linked clubs such as Juventus and PSG to showing serious interest in the soon-to-be free agent defender. But per the report, Alaba would like to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Liverpool as per Football Insider are one of the clubs to have been linked with a move for Alaba. The Premier League champions could consider defensive reinforcements while Virgil van Dijk is out injured.
Left-back has been something of a problematic area for Guardiola in recent years. Benjamin Mendy has suffered a number of injuries, forcing City to use the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is naturally a midfielder, out of position.
Signing the versatile Austrian defender would help rectify those problems.

He’s never displayed an ounce of interest in coming here. Find someone who actually wants to play for us and not some mercenary.

We need him, he’s going to be a free agent…meaning we don’t have to negotiate with Bayern but rather the player… @ManCity don’t mess this up
