Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is closing in on striking an agreement with Kevin De Bruyne over an extension to his contract.

The Belgian international whose current deal expires in 2023, joined City from German side Wolfsburg in 2015 for a then-club-record 55 million pounds.

The midfielder has been influential in Pep Guardiola’s success in Manchester, and with the Spaniard seemingly staying long-term, it looks as though City could be about to get a commitment from De Bruyne to do the same.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Kevin De Bruyne is set to extend his contract at the Etihad beyond 2023 as talks continue to progress.

The transfer expert had also claimed that the Belgian was about to say yes to a contract extension with City until June 30, 2025.

He added that De Bruyne is ‘extremely happy’ with Guardiola staying, and is negotiating directly with the City  board, with an agreement expected in the ‘coming months’.

In reaction to the news shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, some City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
