City have been linked with the prolific striker in recent weeks, potentially as a replacement for Sergio Aguero, with the Argentine star approaching the end of his career.
The 20-year-old is one of the most in-form forwards in world football with a host of clubs believed to be interested in signing him next year.
Earlier reports from Germany have claimed that Haaland has a release clause in his contract worth €75 million that will become active in the summer of 2022. However, City aren’t prepared to wait and would like to discuss terms with Dortmund next summer.
It remains unlikely that Dortmund would want to sell their prized asset with an impressive 33 goals in just 32 appearances for the German side.
