Thoughts on the deal

This would be another prude signing by City. With the options at City Football Group, City can get creative with player development until he is deemed ready to join the first team.

City Football Group have a wide network of clubs used to hand first-team experience to upcoming talents with youngsters such as Yan Couto and Pablo Moreno joining Girona.

The South American made his professional debut at the age of 16 and has made 12 first-team appearances for his current club.

Sarmiento, who has scored four times in six appearances for Argentina’s Under-16 side, largely operates as a right-sided attacker but can also play through the middle.
Playing on the right wing, with a wand of a left foot, great close control and a penchant for cutting inside, the youngster has inevitably been likened to his fellow countryman Lionel Messi.
