Lionel Messi has sensationally lifted the lid on his summer of anguish at Barcelona as he edges towards the final six months of his contract at Camp Nou.
City were reportedly in talks to sign Messi this summer with the Argentine star pushing for a move away from Barcelona.
However, the six-times world player of the year eventually decided to stay in Spain for the coming season, the last on his current deal, as he did not want to face a legal battle with the club he joined as a teenager and with whom he has amassed more than 30 major trophies.
Messi has been talking about how he’s feeling at Barcelona and admits he’s looking forward to the future in a new interview.
“The truth is that today I’m fine. It’s true that I had a very bad time in the summer,” the Argentina international said as quoted by Diario AS.
