Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Eric Garcia and Oleksandr Zinchenko will not be leaving Manchester City in the January transfer window unless one condition is met.
The Spain international is in the final year of his contract at City and was linked with a switch back to his boyhood club Barcelona during the close season, while the Ukrainian has been linked with moves away Wolverhampton Wanderers recently.
City are apparently open to offers for both Zinchenko and Garcia but according to David Ornstein of the Athletic relay by Sport Illustrated, both players will be staying at the Etihad in January unless a potential suitor produces a ‘suitable’ bid.
The report adds that City do not have a ‘pressing desire’ to move on either player. Zinchenko is contracted to the Cityzens until 2024 after signing an extension as recently as last year.
The Ukrainian was one of the several City players who sustained an injury at the beginning of the season. After complete recovery, he now face a difficult task on fighting with Benjamin Mendy, Joao Cancelo and Nathan Ake for the leftback position in the team.
He has made only six appearances for Pep Guardiola’s men this season, featuring just once in the Premier League. At the age of 23, Zinchenko still has a lot of time to develop and will definitely need more game time to achieve that.
