‘FA doing FA things’, ‘draw is rigged’ – Rival fans reacts to Man City’s FA Cup draw

Manchester City will face Cheltenham Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Blues comfortably made it through the third round on Sunday afternoon via a 3-0 win over Birmingham City at the Etihad Stadium. 

An exact date and kick-off time for the match has not yet been confirmed but the ties will be played over the weekend of 22-25th January. at The Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

City and Cheltenham Town, who played in a pre-season friendly at Whaddon Road in August 1994, have never met competitively before.

On the other side, the Citizens’ two closest rivals Manchester United and Liverpool were drawn together in the fourth round of the FA Cup, raising eyebrows among members of the online football community.

We took to Twitter to see what rival fans had to say after the plum draw was announced.

“We will still have to face tough opposition while City get an easy draw over and over again,” one United fan wrote on Twitter..

While a second fan put: “Man Citeh getting i don’t know which team from efl league 7 isn’t talked about.”

While one Liverpool supporter asked: “Can someone please explain to me how we got Man Utd and City got Cheltenham?”

“FA doing FA things…. City draw the pick up team from down the block,” a second added.

Another disgruntled fans reacted harshly: “FA Cup draw is rigged I swear Every year Man city get an easy tie and Liverpool get stuck with a Chelsea or United”.
