‘No thanks, we have enough’ – Fans reacts to Man City’s interest in Sergio Ramos

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of the club’s interest in Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

The centre-back who earns £312,000 per week right now has just entered the final six months of his contract, and it has been suggested that he could move onto a new challenge away from the Bernabeu at the end of the season.

With the winter market now open, Ramos is free to speak to Premier League clubs as Real Madrid is yet to offer their captain a new contract.

According to ESPN, Manchester City are closely monitoring Sergio Ramos’ situation at Real Madrid with an eye to signing him as a free agent this summer.

Despite turning 35 in March, the report claims Pep Guardiola is a fan of his old rival and would be keen on brining the Spain international to the Etihad at the end of the season to bolster his defensive options for 2021/22.

While the Spaniard may be reaching the twilight of his career now, he has been one of the very best central defenders in world football.

This reported news drew a mixed reaction from Man City fans. Though some City fans shared that they’d love to see him at the Etihad, plenty of other simply indicated that the club doesn’t need another Centre back.

I know we defense is good but he’s Ramos ffs
Good at pens and scoring clutch goals. If he doesn’t get to greedy witt the wages I’d take him in a heartbeat

However… That would mean selling Laporte…

If we get him it’s gonna be great. But where will we play them all?
We already have 3 quality CB’s in Laporte Dias and Stones with Ake and THB being the backups. It might disrupt the squad.

Thinking about it it might be worth it because he can partner with Dias in the big games like Kompany did and give us a proper leader and has that winning mentality that we need. Problem is his discipline
