Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims the club is weighing up a move for Atletico Madrid left-back Renan Lodi.
The 22-year-old is already one of the mainstays at the Wanda Metropolitano and a prospect on the left-flank. But he has failed to nail down a regular spot in Diego Simeone’s starting lineup this term appearing in just eight La Liga games, starting five of them.
The full-back spot in particular remains an issue and with Benjamin Mendy failing to push his game on, a new left back is high on the priority list.
The Frenchman has had his fair share of troubles with recurrent injuries coupled with poor form and is starting to turn into a liability for Pep Guardiola.
According to the Daily Mail, Man City manager Pep Guardiola is keeping close tabs on the left-back as doubts remain over Benjamin Mendy’s consistency.
However, the reports reiterate that it will be very difficult to get the player in January, but City are pursuing him with a view to signing Lodi over the summer.
The €50M-rated star, who is under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2025 could be seen as the long-term solution at left back, having impressed since joining Atletico from Athletico Paranaense in 2019.

Theo Hernandez would easily be my first choice, but Lodi seems pretty good too

They should go for him and sell Mendy rather than Zinckenko. Ake is more a central defender and let Pep Guardiola always make players comfortable at their desired position with time Ake will learn. We know his quality at central defence

I don’t think we need to spend much Money!
Let’s just get Angelino back. Then sell Mendy we could just buy another younger LB with superb quality and not too expensive and loan Zinchenko.— Davylee💎💙 (@Davylee19) January 4, 2021
