Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relayed the comments by Aymeric Laporte talking on his Etihad future.
The Frenchman had been an automatic choice since signing in January 2018, but has struggled for match action so far this season.
The Frenchman has managed to secure a start alongside Ruben Dias and John Stones for the first time, and operated on the left of a back three at Turf Moor.
Asked about his struggles to get a run in the team, the central defender spoke out about his mood and ambitions for a future at the club during the pre-match build-up prior to last night’s win over Burnley.
“At the moment I’m here, I’ll play today, we’ll see what happens,” he said.
“I’m happy at Manchester City, I always thought I’d spend many years here. I hope that will happen.”
Stones and Dias have been key in City’s impressive record of 19 games unbeaten in all competitions.
After a prominent Man City blog shared the comments of Aymeric Laporte on Twitter, many Sky Blues flocked to have their say on the matter.
SO, WHAT EXACTLY DID THESE CITY FANS HAVE TO SAY IN REACTION TO LAPORTE’S COMMENTS?
Funny thing is the question wasn’t even that loaded. It’s like it was on his mind and wanted to say something. Weird that he was even on Media duties tbf. Must have put himself forward?
Strange vibe man. ‘No sad faces’ – Fight, brother! We love you but come on don’t be sly/moody.— We’re Not Really Here (@esteighteen80) February 3, 2021
He sat 5 games on the bench and he responds like that. John stones was literally benched by garcia and he didn’t complain, on the contrary, he worked harder

Competition can either bring the best out of a player or worst of the player. Let’s all hope it brings best out of Laporte

Honestly shocking from him, if he’s not willing to fight for his place then move him on. Stones has actually gone through worse yet look at him, patiently waited for his chance and never gave up even when he was almost going to be sold in the summer.

To be fair, he’s too good to sit on the bench. If he can’t break into the team here he’s bound to move on.

What’s wrong with you guys, he served us with league titles and I don’t get how you take this statement as a sign of bad attitude. He’s just frustrated with the lack of game time that’s it. Always remember he’s arguably one of the best CBs.
