Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on twitter, which relays a report of the club’s interest in Schalke striker Matthew Hoppe.

The 19-year-old American forward has seen his impressive development rewarded with the offer of a senior deal. He signed his first professional contract, keeping him at Schalke until the end of the 2022/23 season.

According to 90mins, Scouts from Manchester City have been monitoring Hoppe’s development and have been impressed with what they have seen,

Liverpool, Mancheter United, Tottenham Hotspurs as well as clubs in both Italy and Spain have also been reportedly checking in on the teenager.

The young forward who is 6-foot-2 tall, athletic and powerful is Schalke’s leading scorer this season with five goals in just eight league starts.

The highly-rated forward, born in March 2001, played at the Barcelona Residency Academy USA in the Development Academy Southwest Division prior to moving to the Royal Blues.

There, he was moved from midfield into attack when shows the talent that Hoppe possesses as a natural goalscorer at the highest level.
