Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher believes Erling Haaland’s proposed move to the Etihad Stadium is as good as done after it was confirmed that Sergio Aguero will be leaving at the end of the season.
The 20-year-old Norwegian goal machine tops City’s list of replacements, while Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku are also a target.
The Norwegian has shown he is capable of replicating and even bettering Aguero’s goal output following his emergence onto the scene at RB Salzburg.
Despite Dortmund’s struggles this season, Haaland has scored 33 times in 31 matches in all competition. He recently became the youngest player to score 20 times in the Champions League.
And Gallagher has now speculated that a deal could be on the verge of completion, given City are willing to let Aguero leave.
“If you’re reading between the lines of what’s happening here, the dream now for every City fan would be this… they’ve come to an agreement with the club, it’s a done deal with Haaland somewhere,” he told talkSPORT.
“I would love it if he came, I think he’s perfect for us. He’s young enough and would be willing to learn with Pep [Guardiola] and all that.
“You wouldn’t want Sergio to play second fiddle to anybody.
“I think it’s a great thing that he’s going to go off and play somewhere else for a couple of seasons and he’s not going to be sitting on the bench.”
Haaland has been linked with a big-money summer move, with Manchester City among a whole host of sides desperate to snap up the Borussia Dortmund ace.
If Manchester City have to sign him, they will have to beat off competition from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus among others for his signature.
