Manchester City fans wowed by Riyad Mahrez’s ‘masterclass’ performance vs Wolves

A number of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to react to Riyad Mahrez’s performance as Pep Guardiola’s side ran out 4-1 winners against Wolves at the Etihad on Tuesday.

The Premier league leader were made to sweat after Conor Coady cancelled out an early own goal from Leander Dendoncker but two late goals from Gabriel Jesus and a Mahrez strike sealed the three points.

The clear standout in the game, Mahrez who had gone into the game in a good run of form with a goal or an assist in each of his previous three Premier League appearances, was in his elements right from the early stages.

It was clear that the Algerian was brimming with confidence judging by the way he collected Rodri’s long pass before setting up the opener. Ran Jonny and later, Ki-Jana Hoever ragged with his movement and played a game-high 3 key passes.

Mahrez was also involved in the build-up to the second goal, as he released Walker brilliantly before Jesus netted the second of the game. Mahrez then got on the scoresheet himself to seal all three points with a calmly slotted shot. Such a delight to watch when in full flow.

In reaction, some fans of the club took to twitter voice their opinions on Riyad Mahrez’s ‘masterclass’ performance, with some fans suggesting that he needs to start against Manchester United on Sunday.
