Plenty of Sky Blues weren’t impressed with the performance of Raheem Sterling in the 1-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon against Chelsea in the FA cup semi final at Wembley.
Hakim Ziyech’s strike in the 55th minute was all that separated the two sides and gave Thomas Tuchel’s side a deserved win over City at Wembley.
The Cityzens were well below and their problems were compounded by an injury to Kevin De Bruyne.
They struggled to test Chelsea in what was a disappointing display from Guardiola’s men as they missed out on an FA Cup final spot.
Raheem Sterling was the only City attacking player who brought energy, driving forward and at the defense with the ball rather than circulating possession, but Provided absolutely no threat to the opposition.
He look like a very different player, with absolutely no confidence in himself. Started the second half better but poor final passes which ruined potential attacks was a disappointment.
Sterling, whose poor run of form continues, has scored 14 times for the Premier League leaders this term but only once in his last 12 appearances.
In reaction to Sterling’s display, plenty of Sky Blues took to twitter to express their disappointment, with some fans claiming he ‘needs to be sold’.
Sterling had a mare, absolute shocker

Been trying to stay quiet throughout Raheem’s criticism. But that performance is crazy embarrassing. How can you play like that in this sort of match?

Sterling out, Grealish in. Can’t wait.

I hope Sterling and Mendy never ever play for this club again. Absolutely shocking!

Doesn’t matter. Sterling produced one of the worst performances I can remember from a City player since the days of Antoine Sibierski

Raheem Sterling has been very poor this season.I wonder what’s really the problem. He’s always been wasteful though but now he is on another level…

Also, what’s happened to Raheem Sterling? His was, by far, the worst performance of the 28 players that stepped on the pitch today. #FACup
