The details of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and Manchester City attacking midfielder Phil Foden’s shrouded conversation during their exchange in the recent Champions League quarter-final clash at the Etihad Stadium have emerged – prompting many Sky Blues to react.

Haaland, who has been heavily linked with a move to the etihad and Foden were seen in conversation after the two sides’ Champions League quarter-final tie. The City midfielder was seen laughing as the duo parted, before walking separately down the tunnel. 

Many City fans as well as even some pundits jokingly taking it as a hint that the Norway international was on his way to England.

Gary Lineker told BT Sport : “I wonder what’s been said there… ‘see you next season?'”

“See you next year, see you next year,” replied Rio Ferdinand.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Haaland told Foden, “I’m the one who was supposed to score the goals,”

Manchester City are the bookmakers’ favourite to sign the in-demand Dortmund striker this summer, who has a £68million release clause which comes into force in June 2022.

Haaland, who in the meantime is reportedly value by Dortmund at £150million, has scored 34 goals in 36 games this season, including 10 in the Champions League prior to Dortmund’s exit.
