Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays report to yet another update on the club’s interest in Sporting Lisbon starlet Nuno Mendes.
Mendes, who has been with Sporting from the age of 10, only made his senior first-team debut under a year ago and has already attracted scouts from elite clubs across the continent.
The 18-year-old Sporting Lisbon’s wonderkid is enjoying an excellent season with the Portuguese giants, with City reportedly considering a move for the left-back ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Nuno Mendes is considered an ‘interesting talent’ by Man City, and they are always in talks with people around the player.
“Manchester City are looking for a left-back in the summer – we mentioned Nuno Mendes some weeks ago. I can say again that they are in talks with people around Nuno Mendes,” Fabrizio said on the latest episode of the ‘Here We Go’ podcast.
“They have to decide about the price, because Sporting are always asking for his €70 million release clause – and imagine, if you can’t spend €150 million on [Erling] Haaland, you won’t spend €70 million on a left-back. So Nuno Mendes at the moment is not coming for this fee, but for sure he is considered as an interesting talent, so Manchester City are always in contact with people close to him,” Romano continued.
“They are not the only club, because also other clubs are considering him as an option, but Manchester City are keeping contact and let’s see what they will decide in May and June when they will decide their market strategy.”
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, Many man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

will spend nearly €80m for a defender that they don’t need but apparently won’t spend €100m on a striker a position that they need…. that makes no sense
