Plenty of Sky Blues weren’t impressed with the performance of Benjamin Mendy in the 2-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon against impressive Leeds United side at the Etihad Stadium.
The Frenchman, who was handed another Premier League start by Pep Guardiola after making his mark against Leicester City last weekend, often proved ineffective against the Whites.
The left full-back took everyone by surprise last week end when he helped break the deadlock against Leicester, but couldn’t replicate that influence this time round.
He was really vulnerable throughout the first 25 minutes in defence and didn’t contribute anything of note to Manchester City’s attack.
The Frenchman struggled to get forward effectively, despite moving forward in the second half, and his shocking cross moments before his substitution summed up a poor display.
In reaction to Mendy’s display, plenty of Sky Blues took to twitter to express their disappointment, with some fans even calling him a ‘liability’ and claiming he ‘needs to be sold’.
Mendy genuinely is a shocking footballer. No two ways about it

Manchester City, which is 14 points clear of second-place Manchester United, still requires a maximum of 11 points to regain the title and has six games left .
Guardiola’s side now head to Germany for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund.
