Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims Harry Kane will be stuck at Tottenham unless Pep Guardiola’s side sign him over Erling Haaland this summer.
City, who are preparing to part ways with Sergio Aguero this summer, have been heavily linked with the Spurs centre-forward in recent weeks and the 27-year-old fuelled speculation by admitting he could leave his boyhood club for a team capable of winning trophies.
A new striker has been on the agenda for the club for a long time and City are expected to go into the next transfer markets ready to spend big on a striker, with Erling Haaland said to be the number one target for Guardiola this summer – a move which would almost certainly break the transfer record for the English club.
The report further adds that no Italian clubs would be able to finance a move while Robert Lewandowski remains as the main striker at Bayern Munich and with Neymar set to renew his Paris Saint-Germain contract, a reunification between Kane and Mauricio Pochettino is also improbable.
Kane would immediately work in any Premier League side and arguably provide his most experienced and perhaps even finest years, without any need to adapt.
While it remains unknown if the club would proceed with this idea at the end of the season, it is highly likely that Kane would accept the idea of playing at the Etihad stadium.

Guess he will be staying put then.— Paul Lawrenson (@Lawro1975) May 13, 2021
If he was two years younger, I wouldn’t care if we paid that. Add his random injuries every season now, he’s not worth that much.— CM (@callmws) May 12, 2021
Not happening then— ⚡ (@Ethan4707) May 12, 2021
with all respect to kane , haaland is just the better deal , he is generational ffs , if you have got the money sign haaland— Foden47 👑 (@mcfc_93_20) May 12, 2021
Nah, Haaland is younger and isn’t made of glass!— James (@JMC_OfficiaI) May 12, 2021
We didn’t pay £75m for Van Dijk and we’ve ended up with Ruben Dias who is 2x better. We shouldn’t pay over the odds for glass-ankled Harry Kane. No more than £80m for me. He’s almost 30 as well.— Bernardo’s Brew (@_TrueInBlue) May 12, 2021
He’d be 28 by the start of next season. You’re only getting one 5-year deal out of him at his top level so there’s obviously no way City will pay that price. You’d need to know you’ll get 10 years out of someone to spend over £100m.— Jon Peck (@abellwillring) May 12, 2021
if you are going to drop $150m, then get Haaland instead…….Poor Harry may end up with never having won a trophy his whole career…….Kyle Walker should pull him aside and have a chat!— Jay Tee III (@CaliBearcat) May 12, 2021
