Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports that claims the club have identified four strikers to be noted on their transfer shortlist to replace Sergio Aguero this summer.
City’s plans for the future are very much underway following their latest Premier League title triumph, with Sheikh Mansour politely requested yesterday that a fifth title of his time at the club should be used as a catalyst for further success.
After three Premier League titles in four years and five in the last 10, City are now planning for the next and will need a striker to spearhead the next push given the exit of Sergio Aguero, who was confirmed to be leaving the Etihad Stadium back in March.
According to Paul Hirst of the Times as relayed by City Xtra, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City striker shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window to replace Sergio Aguero are Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Eintracht Frankfurt’s André Silva.
The report claims City’s top target are Erling Haaland or Harry Kane, both of whom would reportedly command transfer fees in excess of £150 million. While Lautaro Martinez and Andre Silva are on the transfer shortlist just in case they miss out on their primary targets.
Whether either of them can live up to Guardiola’s demands remains to be seen, but they are undoubtedly natural goal scorers; as their individual records shows.
