Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have identified Joao Felix as a viable transfer alternative to Harry Kane this summer.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly made the England International his No.1 summer transfer priority, as he look for a new attacking player following the departure of all-time leading goalscorer Sergio Aguero.
The Tottenham Hotspur star appears to be willing to call time on his 16-year stint in North London for a move to Pep Guardiola’s side, but it remains to be seen whether City will pay such a high transfer fee.
According to EuroSport who report Tottenham will only sanction an exit for Kane for a bid in the region of £150m, which could lead the Blues to end their pursuit of the Spurs star and to look elsewhere in their search to find their Sergio Aguero replacement.
The article claims Manchester City view João Félix as a ‘Plan B’, who is likely to cost no less than £150 million in this transfer window if Harry Kane is not possible.
City chiefs are long-term admirers of Felix, 21, who joined Atletico Madrid for £113m two years ago and that transfer from Benfica remains the world’s fourth most expensive deal, although it’s said that the La Liga champions wouldn’t rule out a sale.
It is claimed that Atlético have not put Joao Félix on the ‘non-transferable’ list and may be tempted further should Bernardo Silva be offered as part of a swap deal.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
