Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays report to yet another update on the club’s interest in Sporting Lisbon starlet Nuno Mendes.
Mendes, who has been with Sporting from the age of 10, only made his senior first-team debut under a year ago and has already attracted scouts from elite clubs across the continent.
The 18-year-old Sporting Lisbon’s wonderkid enjoyed an excellent season with the Portuguese giants, with City reportedly considering a move for the left-back this summer transfer window.
According to A Bola, via Sport Witness, Sporting are already preparing themselves to have the player in their squad for next season despite interest from elite clubs across the continent in signing the player.
The report explains that While Manchester City were getting ‘ready’ to invest in his signing at the end of the season, but there’s now an ‘impasse’, with no concrete offers, and the process being ‘frozen’.
The left-back – who is protected with a release clause of €70m – extended his deal with Sporting until the summer of 2025 last year.
