Atalanta BC would reportedly be willing to sell Manchester City-linked Robin Gosens during this summer’s transfer window if they received an offer in the region of €40m (£34m).
The 26-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for his German club, scoring 12 times and registering eight assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
Gosens is currently representing Germany at Euro 2020, and he put in a man-of-the-match performance in his side’s 4-2 win over Portugal on Saturday evening.
The wing-back only has two years left to run on his contract with Atalanta, though, and according to Sky Deutschland, the Serie A outfit are willing to sell him for €40m (£34m) in the current market.
Manchester City have recently been credited with an interest in the German, while Barcelona are also thought to be keen on his services ahead of next season.
Gosens, who is capable of operating as a left-back, a left wing-back and as a left midfielder, has made 149 appearances for La Dea since arriving in 2017.
Would you like to see Robin Gosens at City, Blues?
The question was asked by City Chief on twitter and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.
After his inspiring performance in Germany’s 4-2 win over Portugal in the ongoing Euro’s, Manchester City fans have urged Pep Guardiola to bring German left-back Robin Gosens to the Etihad.
Let’s see what some have been saying about the tweet…
I’d love Gosens, but after this Euros if he continues to perform like he did yesterday his market valuation will surely skyrocket. Depends how much Atalanta will want for him

We surely need him… Good fit for guardiola’s tactics…. Also he’ll be cheaper compared to others

It baffles me seeing people comparing mendes to Gosens.

Only Nuno Mendes. But firstly get rid of Mendy

Actually I’ve watched mendes…and he is really good. Cool calm and confident with the ball

Both class, wouldn’t mind medes or the gosens 🤙🏼

Gosens is better currently and cheaper!

Would be interested to see how he does playing at left back and how much hes allowed to get forward

With Benjamin Mendy constantly unfit and with Manchester City looking to offload the Frenchman in the upcoming transfer window, Gosens can be a brilliant alternative for him. He will not only add depth to the problematic left-back position but will also challenge the Ukrainian Zinchenko for the starting position.
