Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is ‘not considering’ signing Real Madrid icon, Sergio Ramos this summer.
Earlier this week, Real Madrid released a statement saying Ramos would be leaving the club. The 35-year-old, who has been with Madrid since 2005, will depart at the end of his contract on June 30.
Despite his age and injury woes, the Spaniard will not be short of suitors this summer, with Manchester City, United and PSG being strongly linked with a swoop.
The former Real Madrid captain has not revealed his next destination after confirming his departure, and the battle to sign the defender has already begun with Manchester City and United reportedly set to make an offer for the Real Madrid icon.
According to Diario AS via Sport_Witness, Manchester City are ‘not considering’ signing Sergio Ramos even though he was ‘offered’ to them ‘a few weeks ago’.
City’s idea is to keep Aymeric Laporte this summer, and it is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans to strengthen at centre-back, the report adds.
Given the support and cover that Pep Guardiola has at his disposal in the centre-back position, it comes as no surprise to understand the Premier League champions’ stance on the situation.
Signing Ramos would not exactly be a cheap option anyway, regardless of the fact he could be acquired without a transfer fee.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
