A lot of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports that claims Pep Guardiola is looking to help fund big-money moves for England duo Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.
As reported by Sportsmail last month, City are ready to smash the British transfer record to make Grealish the first £100million player with Kane also firmly in their sights after the striker told Tottenham he wanted to leave.
According to Jack Guaghan for the Daily Mail, Pep Guardiola wants a frontline striker, with Tottenham’s Harry Kane now the manager’s preferred target, with Jack Grealish on Manchetser City’s wishlist.
The report claims that the Premier league champions will raise more than £70M through the selling of players on loan and first-team.
Possible sales: Ivan Ilic [£15M], Lukas Nmecha [£15M], Jack Harrison [£13M], Pedro Porro [£15M], Yangel Herrera [£20M]. Morgan Rogers likely to command interest, while City are also watching Jadon Sancho’s next move due to the 15% sell-on clause.
City’s hierarchy have decisions to make on first-team stars who may wish to seek new challenges with guaranteed game time.
First-team stars who might wish to seek game time away from the Etihad include Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez – all have two years remaining on their contracts. Bernardo Silva and Aymeric Laporte also have ‘admirers’.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and City Xtra, Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
With a list like that I should hope its a lot more than 70m

Knowing our history of selling players we could probably get double that amount if we really wanted to

Could have got at least $15m for Garcia, but he was not "fringe" enough, so we let him go for free…🤦🤦

I'm curious if the deals will actually reach progressed stages after the Euro's or while they're going on. All we have heard so far is our targets, no rumors of deals/bids/etc. Obviously very early though

Haaland should be the priority. Pep is great, but he isn’t perfect and it’s a serious problem that noone challenges his decisions. Same with UCL final. We shoudl be pursuing Haaland, not Kane.

The question is will these players suit Pep's style where all 20 outfield players will be packed in the opponent's half.

I think Jack Grealish loves spaces to move the ball
If Haaland is available, we must make the top target. How can we allow Chelsea a free run at him ffs
