Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports that claims Pep Guardiola will ‘not hesitate’ in trying to sign Andre Silva if Harry Kane is unachievable this summer.
The Portuguese striker is just one of the names on City’s striker short list, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Tottenham Hotspur‘s Harry Kane, Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez, and Southampton’s Danny Ings.
The Portugal international signed for the Bundesliga side following an impressive loan spell last season and finished second in the goalscoring charts behind only Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandoski this season, hitting 28 goals in just 32 league appearances.
Pep Guardiola’s side are reportedly weighing up a swoop for Silva, who enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for his Bundesliga club.
According to Daily Express, Guardiola will ‘not hesitate’ in trying to sign Andre Silva if Harry Kane is unachievable this summer.
The Spurs talisman is rumoured to be Guardiola’s No 1 target after the England star reportedly rejected a move to the Etihad Stadium last summer.
As per the report, City have already reached out to Silva’s representatives over a possible bid for the £40million rated striker.
The report claims that the Eintracht Frankfurt hitman is Manchester City’s Plan B as they know Tottenham are unlikely to deal with them over Kane.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City City, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
Should be plan A

I really don’t mind if he becomes our plan A tbf

Makes sense tbh as Haaland and Lukaku are not leaving this summer so he is the next best.

Bet you said something similar about Dias tbf. If Pep wants him, that’s good enough for me

Would be a shrewd buy and his style suits City. His link up play is good and he is a penalty box predator plus takes a good penalty. He would 30 goals per season for City. + good injury record.

I was busy making noise about Kounde and Koulibaly last time and rubbishing Dias only to look like a fool later. If they have scouted him and seen him fit i will trust them..I see his numbers are quite good as well in the past season.I think he can do well with our insane supply

I dont mind buying him and then moving focus to Haaland next year. Also we do have Ferran, Jesus and Delap to fight for number 9 spot and not buying anyone at all can help them grow.
