‘He’s going nowhere’ – Man City Fans reacts as Guardiola received offer to leave Etihad, but turned down the proposal

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola turned down the chance to return to the club that he managed between 2008 and 2012. 

Pep Guardiola signed a three-year deal at Manchester City in November 2020 and appears more than content to stay at the Etihad Stadium.

 Barcelona present Joan Laporta tried to lure him back to the Camp Nou this summer, but Pep has no desire to return to Barcelona.

According to Spanish broadcaster TV3, talks were reportedly held between Guardiola and Laporta, but the former turned down the proposal and said Luis Enrique should eventually replace Ronald Koeman. 

The 50-year-old was appointed City manager in 2016 after leaving Bayern Munich and has taken charge of 295 matches, winning 220 games and losing just 44.

He’s won three Premier League titles, four League Cups and one FA Cup in his five years at the Etihad, losing in the Champions League final last month.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
