Manchester City fans have reacted on Twitter to Fabrizio Romano claiming Barcelona, have made an enquiry for Ilkay Gundogan.
The 30-year-old enjoyed a hugely successful five years at the Etihad Stadium, contributing 39 goals and winning three Premier League titles.
The Sun early this week reported that Gundogan remains happy at the Etihad but has made no secret of his admiration for Barcelona, and is aware that the La Liga club have been monitoring his situation.
Italian Journalist, Fabrizio Romano has shared news involving the Manchester City star and Barcelona. He believe the La Liga giants have made an enquiry for the Germany international.
Barcelona have enquired about Gundogan, however at the moment there is no agreement or anything advanced with City, he claimed on his podcast.
While any transfer is unlikely to take place this summer, the Catalan giants may look to exploit an opportunity to sign Gundogan for a cut-price fee in 2022.
Gundogan, who was one of the many City men named in the 2020/2021 PFA Team of the Year, just enjoyed his best campaign at Man City with 16 goals being netted in the Premier League and Champions League.
Here’s what some Arsenal fans had to say about this latest update on Gundogan on Twitter…

If City loses Gundogan, with Debruyne injury prone, I don’t see City finishing top 4 next year let alone winning the PL.

I swear there are players in other teams 😩

The transfer window has been open for 15 hours and I’m already done with it. Losing half our squad to Barca, Bernardo’s joining Atleti, we’re missing out on Kane and we still aren’t gonna have an actual left back🙃 https://t.co/W2b9AdmJ9q

Ppl have to look at this without putting emotion into it. He’ll be 31 this year and his contract expires in 2023. It makes sense to sell him if we get a good offer but i ofc want him to stay and hopefully he does but this makes sense if u look at it from the clubs point of view
