‘Not a good deal at all’ – Fans reacts as Barcelona willing to make swap bid for Man City star

A lot of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports that claims Barcelona are considering a swap deal to get Aymeric Laporte this summer.

The 27-year-old is considering his future at City after dropping down the defensive pecking order in manager Pep Guardiola’s plans.

Laporte only made 27 appearances for the Citizens during the 2020-21 campaign, with Ruben Dias and John Stones ahead of him in the pecking order.

Barcelona are among the clubs interested in signing Laporte, who is reportedly looking for a move away from the Premier League.

According to Sport via Le 10 Sport, Barca are interested in bringing the former Athletic Bilbao defender back to La Liga this summer and a swap deal could be on, with City interested in Barca 29 year-old utility Sergi Roberto.

Contacts between Barcelona and Man City have been ‘intense’ in the last days. Not only has there been conversations about Sergi Roberto/Aymeric Laporte, but also other players, a separate report by Journalist Toni Juanmartí claims.

Roberto has a year to run on his contract and is being encouraged to leave by Barca management. A swap involving Laporte would be an ideal scenario for the cash-strapped Spanish giants.

The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City Chief, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
